Eugenia Lee (Covington) Wood, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home in Hawkinsville, Georgia. A graveside service for Mrs. Wood will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Perry Memorial Gardens. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Eugenia was born on March 19, 1941 in Macon, Georgia to the late Erin and Mary (Rehberg) Covington. She worked many years for both the Bibb Company and the Peach County Commissioner’s Office. She was a life-long member of Grace Pointe Church in Fort Valley, and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Nothing compared to her time spent with her family. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her son, Billy Wood.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of sixty years, William D. Wood; her daughters, Karen L. (Jim) Barker, Sharon Patat, and Paula Wood; her grandchildren, Nikki Winn (James Nelms), Mary Beth (Brandon) Tolle, Jamie Lynn Barker, and Tyler Wood; great-grandchildren, Eli Tolle, Austyn Nelms, S.J. Nelms, Ansley Jane Tolle, Evan Nelms and several nieces and nephews.
