Centerville, GA – Reverend George Franklin Norton, 95, went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 14, 2018 at his home. George was born on January 19, 1923 in Yonkers, NY to the late Sylvester Harrison and Hester Louise (Towns) Norton. He served the Lord from 1950 – 1997 as a missionary in Brazil with Baptist Mid-Missions of Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his first wife, Elisabeth (Tubbs) Norton; daughter: Nancy Brower; son-in-law: Mick Brower; granddaughters: Sonya Brower and Jennifer and Mark Palmer; siblings: Harrison George Norton, Viola Louise Vroman, Dorothy Bradford Bryant, Carolyn Mae Sausser and Vera Elizabeth Thayer.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 16 years, Doris (King) Norton of Centerville, GA; son: Reverend Bob Norton (Janice) of Fort Myers, FL; daughter: Betsy Brower of Pfafftown, NC; son: Tom Norton (Sandy) of Pfafftown, NC; son: Don Norton (Chrissie) of Winston Salem, NC; Son: Bill Griffin, Jr. (Paulette) of Green Valley, AZ; daughter: Linda Podraza (John) of Elgin, IL; daughter: Laura Griffin of Warner Robins, GA; son-in-law: Reverend Dan Brower of Brazil; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
