Macon, GA- Kenneth Wayne Hawthorne, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Macon, GA. Services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Family will receive friends one hour prior and immediately following the services.
Kenneth was born in Gordon, GA on April 1, 1948 to the late Benjamin Hawthorne, Jr. and Willie Mae (Kennington) Hawthorne. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard. Kenneth worked primarily until his retirement at Porter Paints as the General Manager. He enjoyed researching history, specifically the Civil War era. Kenneth was a very passionate and proud fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs. Some of his favorite Bulldogs are none other than, Larry Munson, Vince Dooley and the great Herschel Walker. His greatest love in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kenneth “Scott” Hawthorne of Gainesville, FL and Amy Durham (Casey) of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren: Brandon Carlson (Adrianna), Matthew Carlson (Abby) and Emily Carlson; great-granddaughter: Jade Carlson; sister: Dale Fuller (Roby) of Lizella, GA; brother: Benny Hawthorne (Diane) of Macon, GA; nephews: Casey Fuller, Britt Fuller, Will Hawthorne and Luke Hawthorne.
