Obituary for Ed Ammons

Warner Robins, GA – Clarence Edward “Ed” Ammons, 82, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family. A memorial ride will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from the Houston Rd. Church of God of Prophecy at 12:00 pm to the historical Auchumpkee Creek covered bridge on Allen Rd., Thomaston, GA. The Patriot Guard Riders will be escorting the family and friends as they honor the life of this great man.
Ed was born on January 3, 1937 in Centerville, GA to the late Johnny Rueben and Lillie Belle (Proctor) Ammons. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force until his retirement. Ed worked as a technical instructor for the SWAT Team while serving active duty. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working with leather and wood working. Ed was an avid gun owner, enjoyed shooting and teaching his family how to shoot and handle a gun. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Ed will be sorely missed by his beloved wife, Faye (Barry) Ammons of Warner Robins; daughter: Wanda Sapp (Richard) of Byron; son: Johnny Ammons (Cristy) of Lawrenceville; grandchildren: Jason, Jacob (Sara), Derek (Jessica), Justin (Felicia) and Eli; great-grandchildren: Michael, Jake, Shaylee, Kinsey, Wyatt, Jace, Angel, Ayden and Little Jake and several nieces.
