Obituary for Joyce Earlene Baker (Earnest)

Byron, GA – Joyce E. Baker died on September 3, 2019 at the Regency Hospital in Macon, GA. Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3597 W Main St, Belleville, PA 17004.
Joyce was born on August 4, 1937 to Adam L. and Elizabeth E. (Cooke) Earnest.
On August 10, 1957 she married Alan W. Baker, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 11, 2014. She was also preceded in death by both parents; daughter: Lark Jean Baker; sister: Blanche Nearhood and her brother: Adam L. Earnest.
She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone Company as a long-distance operator in Philadelphia and at the Visco as a mail clerk. After marriage, she became the secretary for Baker’s Plumbing & Heating with her husband for 40 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children: Alan W. Baker, Jr. of Spruce Creek, PA, Lynne D. Baker of Byron, GA, Dudley T. Baker (Christine) of Madison, AL, Calvin Baker (Renee) of Byron, GA, Mark D. Baker of Byron, GA and Philip G. Baker of Spruce Creek, PA; three grandchildren: Douglas S. Baker of Burnham, PA, Janay C. Connor (Ryan) of Madison, AL and Brueanna J. Baker of Phoenix, AZ; five great-grandchildren: Darrain K. Baker of Byron, GA, Emnalyn N. Baker of Burnham, PA, Addison, Aiden and Allyuanna Connor all of Madison, AL; sister: Jean Patton (Robert) of Lewistown, PA and sister-in-law: Reba Harmon of Belleville, PA.
