Macon, GA - Roger Clynton Collins passed away peacefully at his home on February 16, 2018, with his family by his side. He was 69.
Roger was born on February 13, 1949, in Seattle, Washington to his parents, the late Clynton John Collins and mother, Mary Evelyn (Cauthen) Collins of Greenville, S.C. He attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. His lifetime career was in the food industry and he retired from Interstate Dairy Queen in 2013.
Roger loved to be outdoors walking, especially with his best friend, Chloe, his border collie. He loved traveling and had a vast collection of stories from his experiences. As a youth, he was a member of the Transatlantic Council, Boy Scouts of America and later obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. As an adult, he was a compassionate, caring man, with a healthy sense of humor which he shared with both his family and friends.
Roger is survived by his mother Mary, and sister Lisa Collins both of Greenville, S.C., and his wife of 31 years, Tammie (Wilson) Collins of Macon, GA and his mother-in-law Tennessee Wilson of Dalton, GA. His daughters Amy Stansbury of Houston, TX, Brandy Edwards and son Jason Collins (Jessica) and 8 grandchildren: Riley, Ridge and Regan of Houston, TX. Blake, Zachary, Jeffrey, Julia and Josee all of Spartanburg, S.C.
